Cleaning up in the time of Corona Virus

How many times have we said “I just haven’t got time to clean up that mess in the garden”? Unfortunately all of our “it can wait until later” projects have come home to roost.

Years ago we built a storage bin to hold a lot of beautiful rocks that we had collected from various crumbling walls and rockeries on our property in order to build a dry stone wall later on…..much later as it turned out!

As the years went by a strange plant grew up around the bin. We called it “The Day of the Triffids” plant because it looked as though it came out of a sci-fi movie (if anybody recognizes what it is please let me know) and the blackberries completely obliterated any sign of the original rock bin.

So 3 weeks into lockdown I decided to tackle it. My partner had given me a battery operated whipper snipper and pole saw and shiny new red wheelbarrow from the Co-Op for Christmas and along with the dogs I got stuck into it.

2 days and many cuts from blackberries later I could actually see the beautiful rocks and begin to imagine the next task…..but that’s another story.

P.S I also had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages.
